Giclée Printing

Scanning: Digital Scanning is available for flexible or non-delicate artwork. Artwork is typically scanned between 300dpi and 600dpi.

Photographing: Digital photographing available for thick paintings on stretched canvas or other delicate artwork.

Added Notes: We recommend using fixative on pastels and having artwork scanned or photographed BEFORE framing or varnishing. Warning: Glossy varnish can cause reflections in the scan/photograph which may show up in printing or cost additional digital clean up time to remove.

What is a Giclée?

The word "Giclée" (pronounced jee-clay), connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated by high resolution scans and printed with archival inks and papers. Giclées are commonly found in museums and art galleries around the world and are searched out by collectors for their
color accuracy and resemblance to
the originals.

Printing: We utilize top-of-the-line Epson Stylus large format printers. Their Piezo inks are certified Archival for 100+ years and qualify when matched with our Pearl stock as Giclee, or museum quality. These are the BEST printers for art printing.

Artist printing can also be done on textured Watercolor Paper (as seen in photo below), Matte or Gloss Poly/Cotton Canvas, Pearl (Luster/Giclee) Paper or High Gloss Photo paper.
